Earned Value Method (EVM) for Construction Projects: Current Application and Future Projections

The earned value method (EVM) is an internationally known technique for project management that emphasizes the control of cost performance and duration, thus allowing trends to be identified during execution warning manager variances may affect so they can take necessary corrective measures. In this research, finished projects a construction company in city Cuenca, Ecuador, were assessed. EVM was applied from database developed with information each one rebuild past events, existing problems, critical points evaluate over time. results analysis are meant determine project’s success, calculating variance at end. motivates stakeholders pay attention costs progress timely actions taken optimize resources, resulting completion within budget on conclusion, plays essential role integral terms scope, time, cost. Moreover, there now guidelines applying as tool future projects.
